LETS is a Local Exchange Trading System,
where people buy and sell goods and services
without the need for money.
In times of economic instability when money is not as easily available people have always come up with creative solutions on a local level:
utilizing dormant resources, creating supportive community networks
or introducing their own local currency.
Every community has hidden treasures, things money can’t buy, like people’s skills, talents, goodwill and a caring attitude for each other.
This is how the concept of LETS was born.
In a nutshell...
- LETS uses community credits instead of cash
- LETS is open to everyone
and offers opportunities to all - people of all ages, skills and abilities as well as local businesses.
- LETS is ultimately inclusive
since everybody has something to offer: produce, skills, experience or time.

reduces transport cost for goods or commuting times for people,
rebalances our “carbon footprint”.
