News from East Clare LETS
LETS was launched on Sunday 13th September
in the "Aistear" Mountshannon
with a Family Afternoon.
We had a great day with a steady stream of visitors, the glorious weather was ideal for a relaxed outdoor event in the heart of the Aistear maze in Mountshannon. A lot of people signed up as members of East Clare LETS, which could register a 30% increase at the end of the day. Apart from the vivid interest in the scheme people appreciated fresh local garden produce, bread and cakes on offer, amazing artwork by a local artist as well as the refreshment section generously supplied with free goodies by LETS members. One of the highlights of the day however was the "parachute game", which entertained adults and children alike. We also had a loom and spinning wheel at the event, giving people a taster of these ancient crafts. Both spinning and weaving classes are available in exchange for LETS-credits.
